RUMMENIGGE HAILS GUARDIOLA

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has praised Pep Guardiola for bringing a new style of football to the recently crowned Bundesliga champions.
On Tuesday, Bayern won their 24th German championship, marking the first time ever that a Bundesliga side had won the title in March -- the 2013 Treble holders have now won 25 and drawn only two league matches.
In 2013, Bayern won the Bundesliga title in early April, and followed the domestic title with the Champions League crown and the DFB-Pokal, the last game under Jupp Heynckes.
Writing in the matchday magazine ahead of Bayern’s upcoming Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim, Rummenigge praised the Catalan coach.“Pep is a blessing for our club,” Rummenigge wrote. “He has lifted our game to a new level. He has created a football, which has never before been seen in Germany.”
“I bow to this coach, to this extraordinary person and to this extraordinary team,” Rummenigge added.
In a column for Kicker magazine, the former Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes explained that the defeat in the 2012 Champions League final against Chelsea had been a blessing in disguise.“We’ve drawn the right conclusion from the defeat against Chelsea. We had no options to react with substitutions in that final,” Heynckes wrote.“We explored new avenues afterwards and signed absolute top players in Dante, [Mario] Mandzukic, [Javi] Martinez, [Claudio] Pizarro, [Xherdan] Shaqiri and [second keeper Tom] Starke. This secured the club golden years. With [Mario] Goetze and Thiago [Alcantara] two outstanding footballers were added.”“They now have the best squad in Europe, and thus in the world,” Heynckes said. “And when you bring in an excellent coach like Pep Guardiola, success is programmed.”
