Top Portuguese club FC Porto have signed a third Nigerian player, Fidelis Christopher Irene.
The 18-year-old defensive midfielder from Gee-lec Football Academy of Jos has signed a four-year contract, his agent Babawo Mohammed told AfricanFootball.com
“Fidelis is a player of Porto and he has been training with the club’s U21s for the past month or so,” Babawo disclosed.
The midfielder, who is strong in the tackle, has also trained with the Nigeria U20 team, the Flying Eagles.
He becomes the third Nigerian player at Porto after Mikel Agu and Chidera Eze.
Agu tried out with the Flying Eagles Class of 2013, while Eze is part of the current team.
