"It was wonderful to play for Atlético. I've experienced some fantastic moments and I've won lots of titles. Atléti will always be in my heart", Courtois declared in a video that he posted on Facebook.

In the message, 'Thibu' thanked the coaching staff; the manager, Diego Pablo Simeone; and the goalkeeping coach Pablo Vercellone. "Thank you for all of the trust you have shown in me by making me part of this squad", said the keeper.

"I also want to say a special thanks to the entire squad; to the teammates I've been with for these three years. I'm proud to have spent the last three years with them. We've been part of a group that has experienced some wonderful times. The truth is that it was fantastic and you will always be in my heart", he finished by saying.

The Belgian keeper won four titles in three seasons: the Europa League (2012), the European Super Cup (2013), the Copa del Rey (2013) and La Liga (2014), as well as reaching the final of the Champions League.

Courtois played 154 official matches in national and European competitions with Atlético de Madrid, during which time he conceded a total of 125 goals.
