RONALDO COULD FACE MANCHESTER UNITED IN PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY

Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo is working hard to be fit and ready for the European Super Cup.

Despite still exercising alone, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti can now start reintroducing him into team training and thinks he could even feature against Manchester United in their next game.

Carlo Ancelotti surprised everyone during his press conference after the defeat to Roma by speaking about the Portuguese's recovery and describing his injury as "all but forgotten".

However, a competitive game like the European Super Cup on 12th August in Cardiff could still come too soon for a footballer who is only running and exercising with the ball right now.

Despite that, the player feels good. He has no pain in his knee and is going to continue with the recovery plan that his coach outlined to the media.

In any case, Cristiano Ronaldo has been advised not to rush his come-back despite there being silverware on the line in Cardiff on 12th August. Returning too quickly could just make things worse. He still has two weeks left until the game against Sevilla and has been with the squad for five days since arriving in Los Angeles after his holidays.
