The Ivorian re-joined Chelsea on Friday and will take the squad number he was originally allocated when he signed in 2004.
Egypt's Mohamed Salah, who wore number 15 after signing from Basel in January, will take the number 17 jersey which has been made available since Eden Hazard switched to number 10 ahead of the forthcoming 2014/15 season.

Didier Drogba was in Chelsea's dugout during their pre-season friendly against Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia which Chelsea won 2-1.
The Ivorian striker is expected to start training with the Mourinho's tutored team as the club continue their pre-season preparation in the Netherlands as their European training camp enters its second week.

In Drogba's first spell at Chelsea, he scored 157th goal in 341 appearances, a total placing him fourth in the club's all-time highest-scorer list.
