Democratic Republic of Congo have withdrawn as a candidate to bid for the hosting right of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) without giving a cogent reason for their withdrawal.
Congolese officials said a five-day visit by a Confederation of African Football fact-finding team scheduled for July had been cancelled.
Algeria, Cameroon, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Zambia are the other candidates in the race to host the 2019 tournament with a decision due this September.
Meanwhile, Morocco will stage the 2015 Cup of Nations followed by Libya two years later.
