UEFA APPOINTS CLATTENBURG TO TAKE CHARGE OF EUROPEAN SUPER CUP

UEFA has announced that English referee Mark Clattenburg will take charge of the European Super Cup between Real Madrid and Sevilla on 12th August in Cardiff.

Clattenburg, 36, will head an all-English team of officials for the meeting of the Spanish Champions League winners and Europa League winners.

He has been an international referee since 2006 and has officiated 46 games in UEFA competitions.

Clattenburg refereed five Champions League games last season, including the quarter-final first-leg between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund (3-0). He also took charge of the Europa League semi-final first-leg between Juventus and Benfica (0-0).
Assistants Simon Beck and Stuart Burt, fourth official Darren England and additional assistants Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor complete the team of officials for the European Super Cup game.
