PORTUGAL'S COENTRAO JOINS REAL MADRID'S PRE-SEASON PREPARATION AFTER REGAINING FITNESS

Portugal defender Fábio Coentrão joined in Real Madrid's latest training session in Los Angeles. The Portuguese left-back has shaken off the injury he picked up at the World Cup and resumed full training with the squad.

Coentrão back in action
Portugal's Coentrao is fit to be part of Real Madrid's pre-season preparation.

Despite the return of Coentrão to fitness,  he is not expected to feature in Saturday's encounter with Inter in San Francisco, though he will travel with the team.

Also, Spain's Álvaro Arbeloa will miss the game, having been forced to train separately owing to back trouble. As such, Carlo Ancelotti will be light on full-backs to take on the Italians, with only Nacho and Dani Carvajal available.

Ancelotti will be taking a 23-man squad along for the match in San Francisco, after which the team will head back to their base camp in Los Angeles to continue their pre-season preparations.

Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric, who only reported back for duty on Thursday, are not yet fit enough to play and so won't be travelling with the party to the City by the Bay.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is due to arrive at Real Madrid's base in Los Angeles on Saturday.
