South American Champion, Uruguay were unable to break down Jordan at the Centenary Stadium in Montevideo as they were held to a goal less draw at home. However, the draw did not prevent Uruguay from booking their ticket to Brazil 2014 considering their 5-0 emphatic win in Amman last week.
Uruguay were surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw in the second leg of their intercontinental play-off by Jordan on Wednesday night but still progressed to the World Cup courtesy of a 5-0 aggregate win.
Football pundits thought the second leg will be a goal feast for the Uruguayans but it turned out not to be. Perhaps, the Jordan team will go home happy that they were not trashed.
