CHELSEA'S LATE GOAL KEEPS THEM ON TOP

The returning John Terry spared Chelsea's blushes with an injury-time winner to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League and inflict a 1-0 defeat on Everton on Saturday.
Terry, who had not started a game since Chelsea's 1-0 win at Manchester City, slid in to make sure Frank Lampard's 93rd minute free-kick gave Jose Mourinho's side the three points, extending their Premier League lead to four points - although there was plenty of discussion between the two team-mates over whether Terry got anything on it.
Willian had the first notable chance at Stamford Bridge when sliding his effort wide from 20 yards out, before Leon Osman forced Petr Cech into a one-handed save from range. Kevin Mirallas was denied by Terry as Everton took a foothold, but Eto'o's warning shot was well kept out by Tim Howard.
Terry was called into action again towards the end of the first half, blocking James McCarthy's effort on the edge of the area. Ramires replaced the largely ineffective Oscar at half time as Lampard wasted a glorious opportunity to put the home side ahead. His initial effort was well saved by Howard, before the rebound was blocked by Everton's backline.
Cech was on top form to tip a deflected Osman shot around the post, but Howard equalled him to parry Eto'o's powerful effort and react to keep out Branislav Ivanovic's follow-up.
Substitute Andre Schurrle could not keep down his effort following Ivanovic's deep cross and, with five minutes added time to find a breakthrough, Lampard's late free-kick was turned in by Terry to seal the points.
