ARSENAL HELD BY MAN UNITED AS LIVERPOOL WIN

Arsenal missed out on the chance to move back to the top of the Premier League after being held to a goalless draw at the Emirates by Manchester United.
The match started at a ferocious pace as both sides had excellent chances to score.
Within 90 seconds, Mikel Arteta gave the ball away to former teammate Robin van Persie and the Dutchman found himself clean on goal -- but Wojciech Szczesny spread himself well to save.
Shortly after, Jack Wilshere found himself with a clear sight of goal as he jinked through the United defence, but Chris Smalling recovered well to block.
From the resulting corner, Olivier Giroud climbed highest to reach Santi Cazorla's cross -- but he sent his free header wide.
The best chance of  second half fell to Laurent Koscielny, whose 63rd minute header was cleared off the line by Antonio Valencia.
Arsenal pressed for a winner late on but ultimately had Szczesny to thank for rescuing a point after the goalkeeper pushed a Van Persie header onto the bar.
Manchester City will carry a game in hand on Arsenal and Chelsea for the time being after their match against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium was called off due to high winds.
The decision to postpone Wednesday’s encounter came around 90 minutes before kickoff, with Greater Manchester Police confirming that the call was made by a combination of the police, the match officials and the football club due to concern for the ongoing safety of supporters as high winds battered the Etihad Stadium and surrounding areas.
The match at Goodison Park between Everton and Crystal Palace also fell foul of the weather, with wind causing problems in the area around the stadium and police again taking the decision in the interests of spectator safety.
Steven Gerrard scored an injury-time penalty to snatch a 3-2 victory for Liverpool and break Fulham hearts at Craven Cottage.
The home side led twice, but Sascha Riether tripped Daniel Sturridge in the 90th minute and Gerrard made no mistake from the spot.Fulham took the lead on seven minutes in bizarre circumstances. Kolo Toure -- at fault for West Brom's equaliser when the Reds drew 1-1 at The Hawthorns 10 days ago -- sliced the ball into his own net from Kieran Richardson's left-wing cross.
Fulham piled on the pressure for much of the opening half but could not find the killer touch to double their well-earned lead.When you are at the bottom of the league, luck often goes against you.
And Liverpool equalised against the run of play five minutes before the break when Daniel Sturridge scored his 20th goal of the season when he latched onto Steven Gerrard's through-ball before finishing off the post.
But Fulham again took led in the 64th minute when Martin Skrtel could only find Richardson with his clearance, and the former Manchester United man rifled home.
The lead lasted just eight minutes as Philippe Coutinho curled home an equaliser before Gerrard's late winner.
Newcastle’s season lurched towards a crisis point as Tottenham secured a 4-0 victory that further cemented their grip on fifth place and preserved hopes of Champions League football next season.
Emmanuel Adebayor continued his fine run of form with his seventh goal in 10 Premier League matches this season when he reacted quickest to a rebound in the Newcastle six-yard box.
Ironically, Tim Krul -- who had been inspirational in Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane earlier in the season -- should have done better with Nabil Bentaleb’s initial effort.
Adebayor helped extend Spurs’ lead eight minutes into the second half as his shot was too much for Krul in the wet and windy conditions and Paulinho was on hand to tap in.
The lead was preserved by an exceptional save by Hugo Lloris, who blocked Mathieu Debuchy’s header from point-blank range. Krul was less fortunate at the other end with eight minutes to go as he once again made a save, this time from Andros Townsend, but it only went as far as Adebayor whose effort bounced over Krul and into the net.
The rout was completed by Nacer Chadli in the 88th minute, and keeps Spurs three points behind Liverpool in fourth place.
The inclement conditions also made for an unpredictable match at the Britannia, as Stoke were held to a 1-1 draw by Swansea.
Kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes to ensure supporters arrived safely, and Nathan Dyer almost gave the visitors the lead in the first half with a freak cross-shot that hit the crossbar, no doubt aided by the wind.
Shortly after, Peter Crouch gave Stoke the lead. He was involved in the build-up, picking up Charlie Adam’s pass before linking up with Peter Odemwingie whose shot hit the post and allowed the onrushing Crouch to tuck the ball home.
However, Chico Flores equalised seven minutes into the second half with a smart header, meaning Garry Monk -- who reportedly came to blows with Chico in training earlier in the season -- maintains an unbeaten record as manager. Swansea sit 10th, with Stoke a point behind in 14th.
