SHERWOOD TIPS LIVERPOOL FOR FOURTH PLACE

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has said only one place in the top four is up for grabs this season, and believes Liverpool are in pole position to claim it.
Tim Sherwood said he felt Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea were all too far clear to be caught as he prepared for a crucial game against top-four rivals Everton at White Hart Lane on Sunday."The top three are too far away to catch," he said. "You always strive to get as far as you possibly can, but the three teams we are talking about don't look like dropping any points."Newcastle will be in there if they get a favourable result this weekend. We play them in midweek, and if they beat us they are still in it."It's open for any team to put a run together. There are teams up and around that spot who can put a nice run together and elevate themselves.
"Liverpool are favourites [to finish fourth] because they are in that spot at the moment, but we still have to go to Anfield and that will be a crucial game.
"We just need to make sure that we are in that position that we are in with a fighting chance when we get there -- and I fully expect us to do that.
"Sherwood was asked whether he was hoping north London rivals would help Spurs by winning at Anfield on Saturday and said: "Obviously, no one likes to see Arsenal win when we are wearing these colours, but it would be nice if they do us a favour."
Spurs have failed to beat any of the teams currently in the top six positions so far this season, and will be keen to start changing that when Everton visit.
