As the Super Eagles of Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, players of the senior national team have vowed to put up a strong performance when the tournament gets underway.
Stephen Keshi’s men pooled alongside Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran in Group F will be aiming at surpassing their second round feat achieved at the 1994 and 1998 Fifa World Cups.
Captain of the side Joseph Yobo believes his side can challenge for the World Cup title having won the 2013 African Nations Cup title against all odds against them.
“We have to give our all in the tourney because in future people will ask when you were playing what did you achieved,” said Yobo.
“We have won the Nations Cup, now is the time to aim for the big one,” he concluded.

Echoing this optimism, Lazio midfielder is confident that the Super Eagles will be the surprise package of the Mundial.
“Yes, they say we have not been scoring many goals but these are preparatory games, when we come to the tournament proper they will see the real Nigerian national team,”said Onazi
The team will train on Friday afternoon at the Jacksonville United FC training pitch as they prepare for Saturday’s international friendly against the United States of America.
Meanwhile the duo of Ahmed Musa and Elderson Echejile have resumed training after recovering from knocks suffered against the Greek national team in Tuesday's international friendly.
