Uruguay is infuriated and angered by the "FIFA mafia" and the financial interests surrounding the World Cup, after the ban handed to Luis Suárez.
Social media and Uruguayan press received a barrage of messages against the ban, as well as messages of solidarity and support for the player.
The majority of the criticism was aimed at FIFA, who was accused of trying to manipulate and interfere with Uruguay's World Cup and of orchestrating a vendetta with England and Italy for their World Cup elimination.
Uruguayan Minister of Tourism and Sport, Liliám Kechichián, expressed her sorrow on Twitter for the "excessive punishment" and her concern for how to "help the human being".
