Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the 2014 African Women's Championship after defeating Rwanda 8-0 to win 12-1 on aggregate in second round second leg game played in Kaduna on Saturday.
The eight-time African champions began the encounter on a bright note with Blessing Edoho firing the Nigerians in the lead after ten minutes before Asisat Oshoala added the second few minutes later.
Nine minutes later, Desire Oparanozie blasted home the third and nicked the fourth on the half hour mark before Esther Sunday scored in the 42 minutes to make it five-nil against Grace Nyinawumuntu's side at half time.
On resumption of the second half, Edwin Okon' ladies continued from where they stop in the first half as Desire Oparanozie turned in the sixth to complete her hat-trick of the day in the 55th minutes.
The visiting She-Amuvebi tried hard to aviod further disaster but failed as they melted lately when Asisat Oshoala fired home the seventh in the 82nd minute.
Celilia Nku registered her name on the scorers' sheet seven minutes later to complete the whitewash.
With this victory, Nigeria have qualified for their 9th African Women's Championship which will be staged in Namibia from October 11 to 24.
This year’s Championship serves as the qualifier for the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada.
