DE JONG SET FOR MEDICAL AT NEWCASTLE

Borussia Moenchengladbach forward Luuk de Jong will undergo a medical at Newcastle United on Tuesday, his current club have announced.
De Jong, 23, joined Gladbach from Twente in his native Netherlands for 12 million euros in the summer of 2012, but has failed to impress for the Foals.Throughout the January transfer window, the former Netherlands under-21 international has been linked with a move to St James' Park, and on Tuesday Glabach said that De Jong has left for England to complete his move to the Premier League.
"Luuk de Jong has not trained today with the Foals," they said via their official Twitter account. "The forward is on his way to Newcastle for a medical.
Gladbach head coach Lucien Favre later revealed the initial conditions of De Jong's proposed move to Tyneside."It's a loan," Favre told RP. "Newcastle is a great opportunity for him. We are glad that he has found a new club. It's the best for him and for us."  De Jong has been used 13 times as a substitute for Gladbach, and warmed up for 45 minutes during the Foals' 2-0 defeat at home to Bayern last Friday.
In the past few weeks, Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl had vowed not to let De Jong leave before the club had lined up a replacement. The Foals have also been linked with Newcastle striker Papiss Demba Cisse as part of a swap move.
