GHANA NAMES 23-MAN WORLD CUP SQUAD

Ghana Black stars have named a 23-man world cup squad after their friendly match against Netherland on Saturday.
Turkey-based Akaminko, Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp and striker David Accam were cut from the final group named by coach Kwesi Appiah on Sunday. Defender Jerry Akaminko was dropped out of Ghana's final World Cup squad after being injured in a warm-up game against the Netherlands.
Captain Asamoah Gyan and midfielder Sulley Muntari were included to play at their third World Cup. Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng also made the 23-man squad.
Akaminko hurt his ankle in Saturday's 1-0 loss to 2010 World Cup finalist the Netherlands in Rotterdam and will be sidelined for three months.
The Ghana squad now travel to the United States for a final friendly against South Korea. Ghana, quarterfinalists four years ago, play the U.S., Germany and Portugal in Group G at the World Cup.
