Jose Mourinho would consider one day becoming the manager of the England squad, as he told British broadcaster ITV this Thursday.
"I like this country very much and I feel at home. Of course, the passport doesn’t change and the heart doesn’t change, I’m Portuguese 100 per cent. But I love your country", said the Chelsea manager.
Mourinho, former manager of Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, amongst other teams, revealed his reasons for turning down the England job seven years, ago when he had the opportunity to take over from Steve McClaren.
"My wife helped me make the right decision", said the Portuguese. According to the manager, his wife helped him to realise that working with a national team would make him miss his day-to-day work with a team.
And his current feelings still reflect this: "Not now, no way, [I’m] too young, too strong, too much appetite to train every day, to play three times a week", explained Mourinho, who's currently 51.
Roy Hodgson, the current England manager, has a contract until 2016.
