QPR STRIKER LOIC REMY SET TO JOIN CHELSEA

Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Chelsea have indeed agreed the signing of France striker Loic Remy from west London rivals QPR.

The Blues are said to have activated a 10million euros (£7.9m) clause in the 27-year-old's contract.

The QPR forward Loic Remy is expected to be the replacement for Fernando Torres who has made a 2-year loan move to Italian club AC Milan.

The Blues have long-standing interest in the France international, who was earmarked as a replacement for Didier Drogba when the veteran forward picked up an injury in pre-season.

But with the knock to the Ivorian not as bad as first feared, Chelsea cooled their interest in Remy - though now they are ready to bid for the QPR frontman to strengthen an increasingly light forward line.
