"In principle, we are in agreement with Atlético and with the player", Allofs said, although he admitted that there were a few formalities to clear up. "Our aim is to get him here as soon as possible", he went on, adding that he hoped Guilavogui would be joining the Wolfsburg team later this week.

Although there are the formalities of a medical and paperwork to be signed, the move for Guilavogui will shortly be completed. He was also linked with a move to England this summer, with Arsenal and Everton reportedly interested, but the German side always remained confident they could secure a deal with Atlético.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder arrived Atlético Madrid in a €10 million deal from Saint Etienne at the very end of the summer transfer window last year, but after spending most of the first half of the season on the substitutes bench, he was eventually loaned back to the French side in the January transfer window.
During the 2013-2014 season, Guilavogui made 7 appearances for Atlético Madrid, followed by 9 for Saint Etienne.
