Catalan giants, Barcelona, has officially confirmed that their Dutch midfielder, Ibrahim Afellay will join Greek champions Olympiakos on loan for the 2014-15 season.
Ibrahim Afellay joins Olympiakos on loan from Barcelona
The 28-year-old moved to Barca from PSV Eindhoven in December 2010 but has made just 35 appearances for the club.
The Netherland's international, whose Barçelona contract is up at the end of this season - will join Míchel's Greek champions on loan.
The new Olympiakos player has suffered a string of injuries during his time at Barça and has been unable to cement a place in the team. After several loan spells, Afellay now faces yet another season - which is likely to be his last at Can Barça – away from the Camp Nou.
He spent the 2012-13 season on loan at Bundesliga club Schalke and is in the final year of his Barca contract.
