World cup winning star, Sami Khedira does not feature in Carlo Ancelotti's plans, a fact he clearly highlighted by overlooking him for the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Atlético de Madrid. The call-up also failed to come last week for the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla in Cardiff.
Real Madrid confirms their desire to offload Germany's Sami Khedira
Real Madrid are looking to offload the German before the transfer window closes, as he only has one more year left on his contact. His continued omission from the matchday squad is a way of pressurising the player to quit the club.
Real Madrid are reportedly happy to offer Sami Khedira to interested clubs at a strong discount, but Los Blancos should think long and hard about selling the German international for anything below transfer market.
The Daily Express' Ben Jefferson claims Real could be willing to sellKhedira for as little as £8 million rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the 2014-15 season, with a host of clubs interested in his services.
Premier League top clubs Chelsea and Arsenal are mentioned as well as Fiorentina and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The report goes against the message Carlo Ancelotti delivered regarding the player's future just days ago, as reported by Goal's TomMaston (for Fox Sports).
When asked, Ancelotti said: "He's not leaving, he's a Real Madrid player. He has a contract until June 30, 2015 and that's all there is to say."
Khedira still holds value as a player for Real, and even if he plans on leaving the club at the end of the season, a healthy final year could be mutually beneficial. The World Cup hero can only lose money by spending the entire season sulking—a strong and healthy final season means a bigger deal when he hits the open market.
