MOYES:MAN UNITED NEEDS URGENT REINFORCEMENT

David Moyes admitted there is an urgent need for new players at Manchester United after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea.
David Moyes feels he will have to wait until the summer to bring in new players.
The 11-time winners suffered their fifth home defeat of the season as Wilfried Bony scored a 90th-minute header against 10-man United, who had substitute Fabio da Silva sent off.And with the Red Devils lying just seventh in the Premier League, Moyes accepts his side require reinforcements as soon as possible.However, the Scot doubts he will be able to recruit the players he wants in the winter transfer window and believes he will not be able to capture his primary targets until the summer.He said: “There is an urgency that we would like to bring people in but are those players available in January? So there is no point in me hyping it up because the players we would like to bring in are probably not available, not because we don’t want to do it.”Moyes, who is looking to bolster his midfield and recruit a new left-back, has only made one major signing so far, Marouane Fellaini, who is out injured after having surgery on a fractured wrist.And with both Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Ashley Young and Nani also sidelined, he chose to rest David de Gea, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Michael Carrick against Swansea.But the United boss feels that decision cannot be used to explain the defeat to the Swans, who had never previously won at Old Trafford.He added: “It is no excuse. We had a very strong team out. Just about every player we had out was an international player. Maybe Alex Buttner wasn’t, but everyone is getting an opportunity to show what they can do.”Moyes felt the game hinged on Fabio’s red card for a reckless lunge on Swansea midfielder Jose Canas, but did not dispute referee Mike Dean’s decision to dismiss the Brazilian.“It was a sending off. Going down to 10 men was a turning point," he said. "It changed the game because we had the most control of it. Without getting the second goal I felt relatively comfortable. We don't come away thinking we deserved to lose -- but we did."Moyes conceded confidence was becoming an issue for his side, who face Swansea again at Old Trafford in the Premier League next Saturday."You can definitely see we are lacking that little bit of confidence when we get into the final third at times,'' he said. "We need to get back to winning ways and be hard to play against. Most importantly, we need to take something out of the good play we have had in games."It has been a tough start. I am disappointed we have not won more games but it will change I have no doubt about that. It shouldn't be that [United are reliant on likes of Rooney and Van Persie]. My job is to find a way of winning. It doesn't matter what style, you have to find a way of winning.''United face Sunderland on Tuesday in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semifinal, and Moyes is not yet sure if Rooney, who missed the game with a groin abductor injury, or Van Persie, who has missed the last six matches with a thigh problem, will be fit to return.Moyes is also waiting for news on the fitness of defender Rio Ferdinand, who limped off at Old Trafford on Sunday.
