Argentina's Cristian Ansaldi have joined Atlético de Madrid on a season-long loan deal from Zenit Saint Petersburg.
The Argentine underwent a medical examination before putting pen to paper on his loan contract with 'Los Rojiblancos'.
The 27-year-old international full-back joined Zenit one year ago from Rubin Kazan, where he had been since 2008.
Atlético sporting director, José Luis Pérez Caminero, said: "Ansaldi is a player who will help boost the level of competitiveness in the squad. He's a full-back who can play on either side. He is a great defender and can help out in attack. His versatility will bolster the squad and we are very pleased with this agreement".
