Portugal and Real Madrid player, Cristiano Ronaldo has recovered from his injury. Had Carlo Ancelotti
needed to use him against Valladolid, he could have done so without any
problems. However, Ancelotti and his Real Madrid coaching staff had different
ideas.
Out of the side since the 23rd November, when he pulled up injured at
AlmerÃa, Ronaldo won't be putting his white shirt on again until 10th
December, in Copenhagen in the final match of the group stage of the
Champions League. And even then if Ancelotti so wishes, his presence
won't be really necessary as Real Madrid has already qualified as top of
the group.
This rest period is very strange for a player who always gives all he
has got, and who never looks physically out of sorts. But Ancelotti,
who manages and controls effort and rest in his squad very effectively,
has opted to allow him to have some down time to be able to return
fighting fit for the last stretch of the year.
Ronaldo went on Saturday to Madrid's training ground at Valdebebas
and did some training, before leaving for a couple of days' holiday, as
the rest of his team-mates did. On Tuesday, they will come back and
start preparing for the cup match against Olimpic de Xativa, though
Cristiano Ronaldo is out of this because of a booking. So, while his
team-mates travel to Valencia for the first leg of the cup tie, Ronaldo
will remain in Madrid, working on his own personal training plan.
Ronaldo therefore has just three matches remaining in 2013, all of
them away from home. In the Champions League, the relatively unimportant
game against Copenhagen; and in the league, two tricky away games at
Pamplona and Valencia - games where Ancelotti will be expecting top form
from his star player.
