MESSI HOPING FOR AN INJURY-FREE YEAR 2014

Four time Ballon d'or winner, Lionel Messi has completed his recovery programme in his hometown of Rosario despite the intense heat of the Argentinian summer, and will travel to Barcelona to rejoin the squad on Wednesday."There are lots of important things on a personal level, but when it comes to sport, I'm wishing for an injury-free 2014. The aim now is to get myself back to full fitness and the plan is to have a couple of practice games with my teammates before playing again," said Messi before the New Year, in remarks for the television programme 'Mundo Leo'.The Messi camp continues to underscore the player's positive state of mind and how responsibly he has spent his time back in his home country to recover from the torn left hamstring which he suffered on 10th November."After celebrating the New Year with my family, I will fly back to Barcelona on Wednesday 1st. Once I'm back, we'll see when I'm ready to play again," he remarked.
