Napoli is being linked with two big names during the upcoming transfer window. Barça’s Argentine international Javier Mascherano and Manchester City’s Spanish midfielder Javi García are Rafa Benítez’s preferred choices, with the latter looking more likely.
The Mascherano option has more or less been ruled out due to Barcelona’s lack of fit centre-backs. Selling a versatile player like the Argentine during the January transfer window is unfeasible.
Signing Javi García looks a more likely option. The Spaniard isn’t getting much playing time at City and his versatility as both centre-back and central midfielder make him the perfect signing for Benítez.
