The team landed in Nigeria of Friday evening via a chartered airline got to this stage following the disqualification of Rwanda by Caf that fielded an ineligible player.
The 66-year-old Frenchman said his immediate ambition is to qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Morocco and build a formidable national team for the Congolese people.

"Though we didn't qualify for the last African Cup of Nations. What I want is for us to play good football. Even though, we play very badly in Rwanda - our two away games were not good games. What I want to see is for us improve in terms of technical quality against opposition like Super Eagles," Le Roy told Goal.

"We have a very young Congolese team. Our dream is to qualify to Morocco. The first time I discovered Africa, it was in 1971 in Congo Brazzaville. For a long time Congolese people have wanted me as their coach. But I was never free.

"But now, I think the time was right for me to come and I will try to build something, we know it will be difficult but we have to start one day. If there is a dream in football, we must begin with a step," he explained.

On the recall of Chris Samba to the Congo national team, Le Roy said the English-based defender is always welcome while insisting who seek to play for the country must be .

"The door is always open - players must always understand that the only one person decide themselves their selection is the coach and nobody else.

"The opening to him and also to other players of Congo [origin] who plays and who does not If he want to come for the game against Nigeria and not to come against Lesotho," he continued

"As much as they can come, they cannot dictate to us which game to play. Tell them the national team is for everyone and open for anyone ready to play,”

Meanwhile, he feels Nigeria should have been ban after disrespecting the orders of Fifa, even as much as he desires to win Nigeria on the pitch than by disqualification.

"I was surprised that Fifa says it was Monday, I'll have been more happier to hear the result on Friday. I think Nigeria didn't respect the decision of Fifa.

"I think sanction is normal. But I think in football is always better to qualify on the pitch. Even if we qualify outside the pitch, no one can be against it," he concluded.
