MOURINHO CRITICIZE CRISTIANO RONALDO'S PENALTY MISS

Former Real Madrid coach and present Chelsea manager José Mourinho has fired a veiled criticism at Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo for the penalty that he missed in the 2011-12 Champions League semi-final shootout against Bayern Munich.

In an interview with Portuguese TV channel TVI, the coach admitted he felt a lingering "frustration". "Losing a semi-final on penalties when your best player, your best penalty taker, the player you place all your trust in is chosen to go first, steps up and misses... that's a sense of frustration that stays with you", the Portuguese manager said, without once mentioning Ronaldo's name.

However, Mourinho explained that he wasn't frustrated by the semi-final his Chelsea side lost last season against Atlético de Madrid. "If you were to ask me about the semi-final from last year, then I feel no frustration. Atlético were better than us in the second leg. They won and they deserved it", he explained.

The vacant position as Portugal manager doesn't currently interest Mourinho, despite almost taking the job in 2010 when he eventually joined Real Madrid. "Last time I accepted because I felt emotional about it. There's no point thinking about it just now, because it's not compatible managing a club and an international side. It wouldn't be ethically right either, with so many good managers out of a job at the moment", he explained.
