EUROPA LEAGUE: IKE UCHE RETURNS FOR VILLARREAL FOR THE GAME AGAINST MONCHENGLADBACH

Nigerian striker Ikechukwu Uche is the big novelty in Villarreal's squad to take on Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Europa League game to be played on Thursday in Germany.

It is also worth noting the lack of left-backs in the squad. The young defender Adrián Marin - who made his debut last week against Granada with Bojan Jokic and Jaume Costa out injured - will not be travelling with the rest of the players. The manager Marcelino García Toral has decided to rest the youngster, who finished the game with an injury.

This means that Villarreal will have to play someone unaccustomed to the position on the left - possibly the central defender Gabriel or the right back Antonio Rukavina. They will be joined by three goalkeepers, something which will be the norm for European games.

Gio Dos Santos, Jaume Costa, Bojan Jokic and Hernán Pérez all miss out on the opening game of the first stage of the competition through injury.

The squad consists of Asenjo, Juan Carlos, Aitor Fernández, Mario, Musacchio, Gabriel, Víctor Ruiz, Rukavina, Jonathan Dos Santos, Bruno, Pina, Trigueros, Cani, Moi Gómez, Cheryshev, Espinosa, Uche, Vietto and Gerard Moreno.
