That was in the away leg of the Spanish Supercopa when the game was slipping away and his score restored Atlético's confidence after James had taken the wind from their sales a few minutes beforehand.
The Spanish midfielder stopped by at Radio MARCA yesterday to explain how they would approach this latest Real Madrid - Atlético meeting - this time in the home of their eternal rivals, "We know how to play against Real Madrid and that we can beat them. We have shown that. Perhaps the only recent match against them where we set up wrongly was in the cup".
Atlético's number 8 also gave his thoughts on how the season will go, "I think we've improved the team. There are some key losses, but other players have come who are hungry and ambitious". García played in the Spanish national team's two most recent games against France and Macedonia.
