UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: RONALDO SCORES GOAL NUMBER 68, SURPASSING MESSI'S 67 GOALS

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo found the back of the net in their 5-1 mauling of Swiss club Basel making it his 68th goal in the UEFA Champions League competition, surpassing Messi (67) and now just three goals from Raúl's record (71).

Move over Messi!
Cristiano Ronaldo scored goal number 68, surpassing Messi's 67 goals

Former Real Madrid star, Raúl, is the Champions League's top scorer, but both Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are on course to strip him of that title this season.

For now, the Portuguese star has passed his Argentine rival following his goal which came courtesy of an assist by Bale. Trailing the top three are Van Nistelrooy (56), Henry (50) and Shevchenko (48).
