In a statement on Monday night, the NFF ratified the indefinite suspension of the LMC after an executive committee meeting held at the NFF Secretariat, Abuja on Monday, 1st September, 2014.

The LMC was handicapped by the decision of the Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) in protest against the elections into the NFF last week, where Chris Giwa emerged as president.

The NFF also appointed a committee of six to oversee the running of the league till the end of the season. Some of the officials appointed include former league boss Victor Rumson Baribote who recently returned from a lengthy ban.

In a communiqué released late on Monday, the Executive Committee handed out its ban thus: “The League Management Company Limited is hereby suspended for sabotaging the league matches during day 26thmatches.

“Accordingly, a Six-Man Committee comprising of the following members: Mr. Fatai Olaniyan, Chief Rumson Baribote, Chief Okey Ibe, Barr. Isaac Danladi, Mr. Tijani Babangida, Mr. Babangida Little, Tunji Babalola - Secretary  is hereby constituted to oversee the running of the Nigeria Premier League matches till the end of the season.

“The Committee is also mandated to chart a new road map for elections into the board of the Nigeria Premier League. A Committee is also constituted to investigate the culpability or otherwise of the members of LMC,” the statement read.

The NFF also announced a committee to investigate the fire incident that burnt some offices in the Glass House as well as committees to investigate the LMC, NRA and another to reconcile warring parties in the football industry.

It also announced a committee to begin modalities towards the movement of the NFF secretariat to its permanent office at the National Stadium in Abuja.

Nigerian football is in protracted administrative crisis with this latest implication putting its league tiers for both men and women on hold after a boycott by the referees body over the growing incidence.

Nigeria are facing increasing threat of another suspension in the space of two months from the world football governing body after Fifa rejected and ordered the newly installed executive board to vacate the NFF secretariat.
