Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has brushed aside his contract talks saying his total concentration is on Saturday’s 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in Calabar, according to report from Complete Sports.
Keshi: My Focus Is Congo Match
The Big Boss who has settled for a N6m monthly salary said he would not spend much time discussing his contract while speaking with journalist in Calabar on Tuesday, insisting that beating Congo on Saturday tops his mind.
“We have to put the issue of contract aside and concentrate on the task ahead of us which is beating Congo on Saturday. I am a Nigerian and I feel this assignment should be handled in a professional way that the country will not be put behind,” says Keshi.
The former Super Eagles captain who supervised the team’s training yesterday at the U.J Esuene Stadium however charged the players to give their best in the match as he believes that beating the Congolese will not be a difficult thing for the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Keshi said the team has moved away from the World Cup crisis and fully concentrating on how to qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations billed to hold in Morocco.
The Super Eagles will play the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Wednesday in another qualifier ahead of the AFCON.
