SEVEN CANDIDATES BATTLE FOR NFF PRESIDENCY

The electoral committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has announced the list of those cleared for the 2014 NFF election

Seven candidates battle for NFF presidency

The office of the president of the Nigeria Football Federation will be keenly contested for as seven candidates will lock horns following Fifa's non-recognition of the Chris Giwa faction.

According to the list of cleared aspirants published by the Samson Ebhome-led Electoral Committee, Mike Umeh will slug it out with Taiwo Ogunjobi, Abba Yola, Amaju Pinnick, Dominic Iorfa, Sheu Dikko and Amanze Uchegbulam.

Meanwhile, three candidates will be contesting for the office of the first vice president and they are Emeka Inyama, Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Adamu with Ibrahim Gusau the only candidate for the office of chairman of chairmen.

The electoral committee of the congress-led NFF has cleared a total of 34 persons to run for positions into the executive committee of the football federation.

"The NFF Electoral Committee pursuant to its mandate from the NFF General Assembly has concluded the screening of candidates for the NFF Executive Committee Elections, 2014," a statement from the congress faction of the NFF electoral committee read.
