AFCON 2015 QUALIFIER: KESHI TARGET WIN AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA

Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi wants a backlash from his players following last Saturday’s shock 2-3 loss at home to Congo in their opening 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifying game.

Keshi target win against Bafana

African champions, Nigeria capitulated to a home loss in a qualifying game for the first time since 1981 and Keshi is impatient return to winning ways.

“We have looked at everything and we know why we lost to Congo. Now we must look ahead to the game against South Africa.

“South Africa are a good side. I saw them in their last game against Sudan (when they won 3-0) and they also have a new coach,” Keshi exclusively told supersport.com.

Keshi surprised many when he dropped Fernabahce striker, Emmanuel Emenike on the bench in the loss to Congo.

The “Big Boss” is likely to hand the big forward a recall and also ring several changes as the Super Eagles go for broke against Bafana Bafana.

Keshi however insists on keeping his cards close to his chest.

“Who will I start on Wednesday? That information is not for you but for my players.

“On Wednesday, you will see who starts but we want Nigerians to know that we are going to South Africa with a positive mindset.

“It’s not gonna be easy because they also want to win. But we’ll se how it goes,” he said.

South Africa are currently top of Group A of 2015 Afcon qualifying with three points while Nigeria are joint bottom of the section with no points.
