CARLOS DUNGA HANDS BRAZIL CAPTAINCY TO NEYMAR

Brazil manager Dunga announced on Thursday that Barcelona forward Neymar is to take over from Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva as the 'Canarinha' captain.

"We've made this decision because he is a talisman; he has a great deal of ability and, despite his age [he is still only 22], he is experienced and knows how to keep his composure. The captain is an example for the rest of the team", Dunga is quoted as saying in a statement released by the Brazilian Football Association (CBF).

Thiago Silva, who wore the armband under Luiz Felipe Scolari at the recent World Cup, is currently out injured and will miss Brazil's upcoming friendlies.
