INIESTA AND MESSI STILL SIDELINED

The Barcelona players Andrés Iniesta and Lionel Messi, both missing out on international duty through muscle injuries, have returned to the training ground, but worked separately from the rest of their teammates in Friday's session. This was the last of the week, since Luis Enrique has decided to give his players two days off.

In addition to Messi and Iniesta, the injured Belgian central defender Thomas Vermaelen also worked separately from the rest of the squad on Friday, the Catalan club reported. On the training ground, Luis Enrique had Marc-André ter Stegen, Martín Montoya, Gerard Piqué, Xavi Hernández, Luis Suárez, Javier Mascherano, Douglas Pereira, Adriano Correia and Dani Alves available for the morning session, after playing a friendly game with the reserves the day before.

Gabriel Heinze, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player and an Argentinian international, dropped by the training ground to say hello to the coaching staff. He previously worked with Luis Enrique during his spell at Roma.
