The 26-year-old defender was the only member of Paulo Bento's 24-man squad who didn't take to the training pitch, instead staying behind in the gym to let the injury heal. The left-back is expected to be fit for his country's clash with Albania on Sunday.

It could be recalled that Coentrão suffered an injury in the second half of the first game at the 2014 World Cup, against Germany, being lost for the remainder of the tournament.
