Real Madrid will pocket €5 million if Ángel di María wins the Ballon d'Or while at Manchester United. This is one of the add-ons agreed in the deal taking the Argentine to Old Trafford.

According to the Telegraph, this clause was included at the joint suggestion of Real Madrid and Di María's representatives.
United are perfectly happy with the agreement as Di María garnering the accolade for world player of the year would bring the Red Devils added prestige and vindicate his signing.
What's more, this scenario is unlikely to play out unless the club enjoys success on the pitch, at which point a €5m payment would be a mere footnote.
