REAL MADRID SET TO UNVEIL COLOMBIA'S JAMES RODRIGUEZ

Colombia's midfielder James Rodríguez is set to be unveiled to the world as Real Madrid's newest recruit. The Colombian touched down in the Spanish capital on Monday and on Tuesday, once he's passed his medical and penned his new contract, he'll step out onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu for the very first time.

The icing on the cake

Real Madrid set to unveil James Rodriguez

Real Madrid have brought in the 2014 World Cup's top goalscorer for €75m, after negotiating Monaco down from €100m in record time. This time around, the player's will proved key to speeding up and closing one of the biggest transfer deals of the summer. Madrid have now signed the World Cup's surprise package and in doing so, pulled off yet another transfer coup, having already signed Toni Kroos, another of the World Cup's stars.

For €100m, Real Madrid have signed two of the most promising players in world football. Two outstanding players for a team that came close to winning the treble last season and who have set themselves a new goal for this campaign: the sextuple.

In signing Kroos and James, Real Madrid have further improved their attacking and goalscoring options. If Cristiano, Bale, Benzema, Isco, Jesé, Di María and Modric already scared the opposition, the arrival of the Colombian and the German at the Bernabéu will strike absolute fear into the hearts of their La Liga and Champions League rivals.
