COURT OF ARBITRATION FOR SPORTS TO RULE ON APPEAL OF SUAREZ'S BAN IN AUGUST

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has agreed to hear Barcelona's fast-track appeal against Luis Suárez's ban and will rule on the sanction during the second week of August.

Court of Arbitration for Sports to decide on the appeal made on Suarez's ban

According to the punishment meted out by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, Suárez is suspended from international action for nine matches and is also banned from "taking part in any kind of football-related activity for a period of four months".

In their decision on the case against Suárez, FIFA deemed the striker guilty of breaching article 48, paragraph 1, item d of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) (assault), as well as article 57 (an act of unsporting behaviour towards another player).
