Rosengard, formerly known as Malmo, signed the star Brazilian forward on Monday and will recommence their league campaign next week following the mid-season break, with a match against Marta’s former club Umea.
Now 28, Marta played the last two seasons with Tyreso having spent four years at Umea earlier in her career. Sandwiched in between were stints in the US and her native Brazil.
One of Marta’s final matches in the shirt of Tyreso was May’s UEFA Women’s Champions League final where she scored a spectacular double in a 4-3 defeat to Wolfsburg.
“I am very happy that I get to play in Sweden for a team that has the same dream as me, to win it all,” said Marta after joining Rosengard.
"I'm thrilled to be able to continue playing in Sweden. Rosengard has a strong squad. We'll do everything to become the best in Europe.”
Further strengthening an already impressive Rosengard squad is Denmark national team captain Line Roddik.
Other notable players already at the club include prolific Germany striker Anja Mittag, Switzerland goal-ace Ramona Bachmann, Swedish midfielder Therese Sjogran and New Zealand defender Ali Riley.
Brazil's FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying campaign will take place in September with three spots on offer for Canada 2015.
